Bus Services
Only very few bus services continue to be available to parishioners. The services leave from and return to the bus shelter at the edge of the village hall car park.
All Wrekin Connect services are operated by a fully accessible vehicle. Where there are no bus stops, the Wrekin Contact will stop at any safe place if a clear signal is given to the driver.

Taxi Vouchers
To complement the very poor public transport provision, the Parish Council runs a Taxi Voucher Scheme with funding provided from the Countryside Agency.
Open to anyone over the age of 16, the scheme provides books of vouchers worth £20 for the cost of £1 to be used in payment or part-payment for taxi journeys with eight local taxi companies. A special arrangement with the Borough to redeem the vouchers on behalf of the Council has maximised their acceptability to these businesses.
The scheme is designed to help anyone with unmet transport needs, and vouchers are allocated strictly on the basis of need on receipt of completed application forms.

Community Car Scheme
More immediate transport support for less mobile parishioners is also available through an informal community car scheme, allowing anyone in need of local transport or collection to get the help they need through a local co-ordinator.

The Twister Bus Service
The pilot scheme of the Twister bus service has now been operating since July 2008 and is providing a valuable bus service to everyone in five of Telford & Wrekin’s rural parishes. Approximately 8000 residents live across the parishes of Ercall Magna, Little Wenlock, Rodington, Waters Upton and Wrockwardine and everyone in these areas can use the Twister service to reach Wellington and Telford.
Twister is a new kind of bus service with the flexibility of having no fixed route. This means it can cover wider areas which conventional timetabled routes cannot do, so regardless of if you live near a bus stop or a local service, you can use the Twister and get out and about.
People who use Twister first register their details, then one or two days before travel a phone call is all it takes to book a trip. Twister works on arrival times in Telford and Wellington, so we will let you know an approximate pick-up time. If it’s your first trip we will discuss where your most appropriate pick-up point is and register that with your details. Don’t worry if you use a wheelchair or are unable to walk far, the Twister can carry wheelchair passengers, and we always agree a pick-up point which is easy for you to get to, whether that is your local bus stop or at your front gate.
Over 170 people are already registered to use Twister, and there are a number of regular users, who I’m sure will agree that once you have travelled for the first time you will know how easy the Twister is to use and won’t hesitate to use it again.
Twister travels to Telford on a Monday and Wednesday, and Wellington on a Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. There is also a choice of drop-off points available depending on the purpose of your trip.
If you are registered for Twister but haven’t tried it yet, why not give it a go now the weather is improving. Or, if you’re not registered but want to find out more, ring 01952 384677 to speak to someone about Twister or to request a leaflet.
