John has been lining his walls with Sempatap Thermal

What is it? It is a quarter inch thick layer of foam insulation with a fibreglass layer to the room side. It comes in a roll 12.5 metres long by 1 metre wide and is attached to the wall by an adhesive similar to copydex. Once on the wall the joints are sealed with sealant and the wall is then ready for papering, painting or even tiling.

Is it expensive? Each roll cost me £136.30 with adhesive £22.79 and sealant at £5.40 to date I have done all but the kitchen (ie living room, bathroom and three bedrooms) using 5 rolls. I obtained various discounts through the energy efficiency advice centre and obtained the brochures
from them originally.
